Hannah Treston

Psychodynamic Counsellor & Psychotherapist

I know that it takes courage to take this first step but it can be a source of real change. Many value a confidential time and place to talk to someone who is qualified to listen with attention and think with them about their difficulties. This can help us make sense of things and understand ourselves better and resolve or find ways to live with complicated feelings. It can help us to recognise unhelpful patterns in the way we think or act, perhaps finding ways to change them (if we want to).

Counselling and psychotherapy are forms of 'talking therapy'. Counselling is generally briefer and provides a listening space, while psychotherapy is longer and looks more closely at emotional or behavioural difficulties.
